Black Caps dominate as West Indies crumble in Christchurch Test
New Zealand have taken control of the Test match in Christchurch after dismissing the West Indies for just 167. The Black Caps now lead by 64 runs in the first innings and remain unbeaten in their second turn at the crease. At stumps, openers Tom Latham and Devon Conway stood firm, extending their advantage to nearly 100 runs without loss.
The West Indies innings began with two half-centuries from Shai Hope and Tagenarine Chanderpaul. Hope reached 50 before falling to a catch by Conway at square leg. Chanderpaul followed soon after, also dismissed by Conway on the third attempt after scoring 50.
The Black Caps hold a commanding position after day two. Their bowlers restricted the West Indies to a low total, while the opening pair ensured no further damage in the second innings. The match now rests on whether New Zealand can push their lead further or if the West Indies can fight back with early breakthroughs.
