In the political landscape of Karnataka, Shivakumar, the current KPCC president, has been steering the Congress party for five years. However, contrary to some expectations, Shivakumar has not expressed support for a grand celebration to mark his five-year milestone in North Karnataka.

Shivakumar has not provided specific details about the proposed celebrations, instead choosing to focus on other matters. He has directed ministers to conduct workers' meetings at the constituency level and has plans to organize celebrations to mark the government's two-year milestone once these meetings are completed.

In a recent development, Shivakumar advised Vijayendra, the BJP president, to read Kuvempu's Naadageethe properly and understand its message of unity and harmony. He also urged Vijayendra to act at his level and not make random statements.

The Congress government, under Shivakumar's leadership, is committed to the welfare of all communities. Shivakumar reiterated that all communities, including Muslims, Sikhs, Jains, Parsis, and Buddhists, are integral to the state and nation.

Meanwhile, the BJP is making efforts to boost minority inclusion, particularly in Kerala. The BJP’s Kerala state unit has reconstituted its core committee, expanding its membership and notably increasing Christian representation from two to four members. However, A P Abdullakutty remains the only Muslim member on this committee.

At the national level, speculation exists about BJP potentially nominating minority leaders for high constitutional roles, such as Vice-President candidates, but no formal nomination or confirmation is reported yet. The party appears conscious of minority representation ahead of elections, balancing inclusion with internal challenges.

Despite these efforts, the overall minority representation at higher national levels such as Rajya Sabha or as Union ministers remains limited and selective. The BJP has formed a State Election Committee with diverse leadership in Meghalaya, including minority representatives, but broader representation as Union ministers or MLCs remains limited or less publicly covered.

In summary, Shivakumar's five-year tenure as KPCC president is marked by a focus on the welfare of all communities and a commitment to unity. The BJP, on the other hand, is making efforts to boost minority inclusion, particularly in Kerala, but broader representation at the national level remains a challenge.
