Biysk launches emergency cold asphalt repairs ahead of full road renovations
Biysk has started emergency road repairs using cold asphalt patching ahead of major renovations. The city administration confirmed in March 2026 that 15 road sections have already been treated. This method serves as a temporary fix until better weather allows for permanent work.
Mayor Viktor Shchigrev allocated around 30 million rubles for patch repairs across the city's road network. The funds aim to address potholes and damaged surfaces before full-scale improvements begin.
The cold asphalt technique was first applied on the 'Prodmash' overpass. This approach allows quick repairs without waiting for warmer conditions. Now, crews are working on Kakhovskaya Street near Overpass No. 146.
Local reports highlight that these repairs are not a long-term solution. They will hold until temperatures rise and full reconstruction can take place. The city plans to expand the method to other damaged areas in the coming weeks.
The 30 million ruble investment targets immediate road safety concerns. Cold asphalt patching will keep key routes usable until permanent fixes are possible. Further updates on the city's roadwork schedule are expected in the near future.
