Sipping on German-made spirits at Christmas? Absolutely! Our booze-loving author ventured into Berlin's Pappelallee, where experienced barkeep Oliver Ebert prepared a mixology tour with traditional German cocktails.

First stop: the "Dry Martini" where three different combinations were created using gin, vermouth, and a touch of orange bitters. The first "Martini" featured a unique gin called "Djin" from Lüneburg Heath, while the second utilized "Niederrhein Gin" from Mühle 4. The third "Martini" was inspired by James Bond's "Vesper Martini," as the bar's secret recipe included Nicola potato spirit, cinchona bark, and Djin gin.

Our author's second round was the famous "Manhattan," where German rye whisky, red vermouth, and a dash of bitters created a delightful balance of flavors. Theerry Whitworth introduced us to this classic cocktail in the early 1880s, and its countless variations, including different whiskies, vermouths, and bitters, have continued to captivate the world.

The mixology tour continued with the "Straits Sling," a Singaporean-inspired drink that is often referred to as the "Pink Singapore Sling." This long, refreshing drink relied on Ferdinand gin, a herbal liqueur, and sour cherry liqueur for its unique flavor profile.

Last but not least, our author enjoyed the "Corpse Reviver No. 2," a potent cocktail that included Schlossgin gin, dry vermouth, bitter orange liqueur, and absinthe. This drink is named for its revitalizing effect on the consumer after a long night of partying.

Our author's journey through the world of German cocktails is quite an intriguing tale, but it does not offer any specific taste test results or data on these crafted cocktails by professional mixologist Oliver Ebert.
