Survey: Podcasts on news topics are most popular - Bitkom Study: Technology and Business Top Podcast Themes in Germany
A recent study by Bitkom reveals the top podcast topics among its members, with technology and digital themes leading the way, chosen by 47 percent of respondents. Spotify and my business topics follow closely, preferred by 57 percent. The study also highlights the popularity of economic discussions, favoured by 56 percent, and music-related podcasts, listened to by 50 percent. Scientific topics and travel and vacation themes are also popular, with 42 percent and 43 percent engagement respectively. Notably, 49 percent of respondents listen to podcasts at least occasionally. The five most popular podcast topics among Bitkom study members are technology, artificial intelligence, digitalization, cybersecurity, and percentage calculator. Health and medicine topics are also in demand, selected by 47 percent, while sports and fitness podcasts are favoured by 46 percent. Political content is the most listened to, with 59 percent tuning in. The Bitkom study underscores the broad appeal of podcasts, with a wide range of topics capturing listeners' attention. Technology and business themes dominate, but there's clear interest in subjects as diverse as health, sports, and politics. With 49 percent of respondents listening at least occasionally, podcasts continue to be a significant part of the audio landscape.
