Paris Saint-Germain Bank £98m from Uefa for Champions League Victory

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has received a significant financial boost after winning their first Champions League title. The French football club banked a staggering £98 million from UEFA for their remarkable victory.

The Hundred Franchises Shift Away from Centralized Kit Deals

In the world of cricket, The Hundred's franchises are undergoing a transformation in their kit deals. Due to changes in ownership, New Balance is being phased out by several teams, with franchises now signing individual apparel contracts.

Birmingham Phoenix has already made the move, signing a kit deal with Castore for the next season. London Spirit, on the other hand, has opted for a deal with Nike, becoming the first Hundred team to secure an individual commercial contract with a major sports brand.

The New Balance contract with The Hundred had a break clause triggered by recent ownership changes at six of the eight franchises, allowing teams to negotiate their own kit suppliers independently moving forward.

Despite losing the London Spirit deal, Castore remains a significant cricket apparel supplier, outfitting England international teams, South Africa, West Indies, and some prominent English county teams. For the current 2025 season, New Balance kits are still in use, but this is expected to change next year as the new individual deals take effect.

England's Women's Rugby World Cup Journey

The Women's Rugby World Cup is shaping up to be a historic event. Ticket sales have surpassed 400,000 in the last week, making it the best-attended women's rugby competition ever. England's Red Roses are favored to win the tournament for the first time since 2014.

The final will be held at Twickenham on 27 September. The tournament is being staged at smaller venues such as Franklin's Gardens and Exeter's Sandy Park, in addition to the opening game at the Stadium of Light.

England's players wore a white headband in memory of the former England and Surrey batter, who died after being struck by a train. The event "A Day for Thorpey" at The Oval, organised by Surrey CCC, raised more than £160,000 for mental health charity Mind.

PSG's Additional Financial Boost

PSG's successful run in football continued as they collected over £100 million in prize and appearance money for reaching the final of the Fifa Club World Cup. This additional income will undoubtedly strengthen their position in the transfer market and help them continue their pursuit of footballing greatness.

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) could potentially invest in sports insurance to further secure their financial position after receiving a significant boost from winning the Champions League and £100 million in prize and appearance money from the Fifa Club World Cup.

In the event of football-related injuries to key players, such insurance could help minimize financial losses due to player absenteeism and ensure the club's continued success in the sport.
