Bimonthly Gathering for Exploring Data and Privacy Matters, Known as BRIDG

The Bimonthly Records and Information Discussion Group (BRIDG) meetings, hosted by NARA's Agency Services, have been a consistent platform for discussions on various records management topics since 2004. However, as of August 2025, there are no scheduled BRIDG meetings, and no detailed agendas have been provided for upcoming sessions.

The most recent BRIDG meeting took place on December 13, 2022 (AC 08.2023). The meeting included updates on the Federal Records Center Program, a FY22 Annual Reporting Update, changes to previously approved schedules, an update on NA 14130 for Classified Transfers, a Capstone Approach for Electronic Messages, and ERA 2.0 Status Updates.

Past meetings have covered a wide range of topics, including Federal Records Centers Program updates, GRS updates, Annual Reporting Reminders, Records Management Training Updates, OGIS Reporting Updates, and discussions on the transition to Electronic Records (M-23-07), digitization regulations for permanent records, and the migration of NARA's Electronic Records Archive (ERA) system.

Notably, the February 23, 2022 BRIDG meeting (AC 19.2022) was postponed, and the upcoming meeting scheduled for Tuesday, August 12, 2025, has been canceled.

In the interim, NARA has been focusing on reminders about records management practices, such as resubmissions of NA-1005 forms for using General Records Schedules (GRS) 6.1. However, no new BRIDG meeting agendas or dates have been announced.

Stay tuned for updates on future BRIDG meetings and discussions on records management best practices from NARA's Agency Services.

Although no new BRIDG meeting agendas or dates have been announced, recent meetings have discussed policy-and-legislation related topics like updates on the Federal Records Center Program and the Capstone Approach for Electronic Messages. Despite the current absence of scheduled BRIDG meetings, politics and general-news updates, such as the transition to Electronic Records, digitization regulations for permanent records, and the migration of NARA's Electronic Records Archive system, remain relevant subjects within the records management field.
