Billy Joel pays tribute and stirs up a wave of nostalgia during the Hamburg Music Summer event
Get ready for a musical extravaganza in the heart of Homburg, Germany, as the city gears up for the Homburg Music Summer 2022! This exciting concert series, organised by the IG Homburger Altstadt e.V. and the city of Homburg, will be taking place on the Historic Market Square until mid-September.
The event promises a diverse lineup of live music across various genres, with temporary closures in the St.-Michael-Straße area during high visitor turnout to ensure a smooth running of events. The schedule and lineup for this year's event are as follows:
Friday, July 25th, at 7 PM, the stage will be graced by "All About Joel," a six-piece band led by singer Thomas Matiszik. This band offers a unique interpretation of Billy Joel's music, featuring a stylistically diverse and musically challenging stage presence. Expect to hear hits like Piano Man, Uptown Girl, and We Didn't Start the Fire.
On Saturday, July 26th, at 11 AM, the Historic Market Square will be filled with the harmonious singing, elegant stage presence, and nostalgic charm of "Singin' Birds." This three-singer ensemble, graduates of the Chopin Music Academy in Warsaw, brings the spirit of classic swing back to Homburg, inspired by musical legends such as the Andrews Sisters, Duke Ellington, Glenn Miller, and Ella Fitzgerald. Their musical experience takes listeners on a journey back to the 1930s.
The event flyer for the Homburg Music Summer concert series can be found at the tourist info, city hall, and many shops in the city center. For the full program and any updates, we recommend checking the city of Homburg's website (www.homburg.de).
So, mark your calendars and join us in Homburg for an unforgettable musical journey this summer! Whether you're a fan of classic swing or Billy Joel's timeless hits, there's something for everyone at the Homburg Music Summer 2022.
