Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey Finally Gets a 4K UHD Release in Europe

Fans of the Bill & Ted films have two new high-definition releases to look forward to. Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure (1989) is already available on 4K UHD, while Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey (1991) will arrive in Germany next year with enhanced picture quality and extras. The 1991 sequel has never before been released in 4K in Europe until now.

Studiocanal has already brought Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure to 4K UHD, giving the 1989 classic a visual upgrade. Now, the follow-up film, Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey, is set for its own premium release in Germany.

On 27 March 2026, Koch Media will launch a 4K Mediabook edition of the 1991 sequel. This version will feature Dolby Vision for improved colour and contrast, marking the first time the film has been released in this format in Europe. Wicked Vision Distribution GmbH is handling the Ultra HD Blu-ray release.

The Mediabook will also include extensive bonus material, offering fans behind-the-scenes content and special features. Additionally, a booklet with text by film expert Christoph N. Kellerbach will accompany the set, providing further context on the production and legacy of the film.

The upcoming 4K Mediabook of Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey will give collectors a new way to experience the cult film. With Dolby Vision, bonus content, and an exclusive booklet, the release aims to appeal to both longtime fans and new viewers. The film's arrival in Ultra HD Blu-ray format will also fill a long-standing gap in European home entertainment.
