New York Red Bulls Secure Schwarz and Forsberg as Part of 2025 Preparations

Brimming with excitement, former Hertha BSC coach Sandro Schwarz is reportedly set to embark on a new chapter in his career with the New York Red Bulls, according to "Bild". The 45-year-old, who boasts a stint with Mainz 05 in the Bundesliga, parted ways with the Berliners in April 2023.

New York Red Bulls have already fortified their ranks with RB Leipzig's long-term midfielder Emil Forsberg (32), as confirmed by "Bild." However, it's essential to clarify that Forsberg is not a new signing; instead, he's listed as a Designated Player on the roster for the upcoming 2025 season. Forsberg has already captured the spotlight, gracing the team's new away kit – dubbed the "Stone Kit" – which pays homage to New York's architectural legacy.

With a new coach and a reinforced roster, the Red Bulls are aiming high for the 2025 season. Schwarz's happiness with the team's depth and readiness is palpable, as he has also highlighted the significant changes and additions to the squad, including the arrival of Alexander Hack. Conversely, key players like John Tolkin and Andres Reyes have bid their farewells.

Jochen Schneider, the former Schalke manager at the helm of the Red Bulls, led his team to a disappointing eighth place finish in the Eastern Conference at the conclusion of the Major League Soccer season in October 2023. They were subsequently ousted from the inaugural play-off round against Cincinnati at the beginning of the current year.

After Troy Lesesne and assistant coach Zach Prince announced their departure earlier this month, the selection process for the new head coach is currently underway, as indicated by Schneider.

The shift to the New York Red Bulls as the new coach for Schwarz is anticipated to be formalized this winter, following his release from Hertha BSC earlier this year. The latest news reveals that there have been significant changes and additions to the team's roster, with both Schwarz and Forsberg playing pivotal roles in the team's 2025 preparations.
