Biker suffers fatal injuries in road collision
A tragic incident occurred on the A100 highway in Westend yesterday afternoon, as a motorcyclist sustained severe injuries in a collision at the Funkturm interchange. The accident, which happened around 14:45 in the curve of the highway on-ramp, resulted in the unfortunate loss of the motorcyclist's life at the scene.
The specialized traffic crimes unit from Police Directorate 1 (North) is currently investigating the cause of the accident. According to their initial findings, the motorcyclist deviated from his lane to the right, striking the curb and subsequently colliding with the guardrail.
The A100 highway was closed for approximately two hours due to the accident, reopening to traffic at around 19:30. The accident scene was cleared by emergency services around 17:30.
The motorcyclist, who was 22 years old, has not had his identity publicly released. The police are requesting any other witnesses who may have information about the accident to come forward.
