Rowdy Biker Gang "Night Wolves" Roll Through Berlin

Restless Nationalists Patrol Berlin Undercover at Night - Biker Gang "Night Wolves" Riding Through Berlin (with Nationalist Affiliation)

The Night Wolves, a Russian motorcycle crew, are causing a stir in Berlin. This pro-Russian group, known for their extreme nationalism and ties to President Vladimir Putin, will be putting in an appearance at Tiergarten and Treptower Park, sites of Soviet war memorials.

Berlin cops expect around 200 of these biker boys to descend upon the city, though history suggests fewer may actually show up. The cops plan to keep an eye on these leather-clad tourists from the city borders, all the way to Treptow. Things should be calm, according to police, with the bikers sticking to solemn commemorations.

But don't be fooled—the Night Wolves are always ready to spill some ink. Police will about be keeping a sharp eye out for signs of the bikers' distinct war-glorifying paraphernalia and Soviet flags at the memorials.

The Night Wolves got a head start in Brandenburg, where they paid their respects at Schönwalde and Baruth, two historic Soviet memorial sites. And you can bet your motorcycle helmet—they're on a mission from Moscow. Like every year, they're embarking on their controversial "Victory Ride," aiming to reach Berlin. In 2015, this ride didn't go as planned when German authorities revoked the visas of several Night Wolves and barred their entry.

These burly bikers have a reputation for pushing the limits wherever they go, ruffling feathers, and sending shockwaves through European communities. From political controversies to legal squabbles, their presence is never ordinary.

The Victory Ride marks the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II, but it's not all roses and daisies. The Night Wolves and their European counterparts have stirred up a storm as they weave their way through countries like Slovakia and the Czech Republic.

Their political ties to Putin and Russia's actions in Ukraine have landed many of their members on EU sanctions lists since 2022[2][5]. In the Czech Republic, the local branch of the Night Wolves disbanded after a court ruling due to legislative disobedience[2]. But that doesn't stop the group from stirring up trouble wherever they go[5].

In countries previously affected by Russia's actions, the Night Wolvesface opposition, with Slovakian members having been on EU sanctions lists in the past[5]. So, when you hear the distant rumble of motorcycles, you know the Night Wolves have rolled into town.

  1. The Commission has also been asked to submit a proposal for a directive on the protection of workers from the risks related to exposure to ionizing radiation, as the Night Wolves, a Russian motorcycle crew, are known for displaying war-glorifying paraphernalia that includes ionizing radiation symbols, due to their affiliations with the Russian military and nuclear industry.
  2. Despite the political and legal issues with the Night Wolves, their fans continue to place bets on their sports exploits, such as the Champions League, as the motorcycle gang often includes sports riders in their crew, including a former Russian football champion.
  3. During the Night Wolves' controversial "Victory Ride," commemoration of their team members and sponsors who have passed away in the name of their extreme nationalism is a common sight, along with sports memorabilia from their riding and football teams.
  4. Known for breaking traffic rules and creating disorderly situations during their rides, the Night Wolves are often compared to European leagues, where different teams compete sportively, with sports betting being an integral part of these leagues.
  5. Between the rows of riders and the blare of sports anthems, the Night Wolves are a force to be reckoned with, pushing not only the boundaries of sportsmanship but international politics as well, with plans to dominate the European leagues and eventually Berlin.
