Bihar Election Surge: NDA, RJD Offer Financial Aid Schemes
Bihar, preparing for Assembly elections in two months, sees a surge in government schemes offering financial aid to various sections. Over 10,000 'Vikas Mitras' will receive Rs 25,000 each for tablet purchases, while more than 30,000 educators get Rs 10,000. The NDA government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, has introduced these schemes, despite past criticism of 'revdi' culture.
The schemes, launched by PM Modi, include a Rs 1,000 monthly unemployment allowance. Notably, the Mukhyamantri Mahila Rozgar Yojana provides Rs 10,000 to 75 lakh women entrepreneurs as the first instalment, with plans to increase it to Rs 2 lakh later. Senior citizens will also benefit with increased pension. Free electricity up to 125 units a month is another key offering. Meanwhile, the RJD party is distributing freebies, including Rs 10,000 to 7.5 million women entrepreneurs, with plans to increase it to Rs 2 lakh.
These schemes, introduced by the NDA government and opposition parties, aim to provide financial assistance and support to various sections of Bihar's population ahead of the Assembly elections. The impact and sustainability of these initiatives remain to be seen.
