Biden Urges Swift Ukraine Aid Approval Before Vacation
Once more, President Joe Biden has implored Congress to authorize fresh funds for Ukraine, which has been enduring relentless attacks from Russia.
"This cannot be postponed. Congress must greenlight additional funding for Ukraine before it embarks on its vacation; it's as simple as that," Biden said at the White House. He cautioned that Putin would likely continue his aggressive behavior if not checked by a timely response from the US Congress.
Critical Aid Package Announced
At the same time, the White House declared that the US would furnish Ukraine with an additional military aid package. Secretary of State Antony Blinken unveiled the new plan, which would provide weapons and equipment worth up to 175 million US dollars (around 162 million euros). The resources, drawn from limited remaining funds previously approved by Congress, feature air defense ammunition, artillery ammunition, and anti-tank missiles.
