"Owning Up" - Biden Admits Responsibility for Trump's 2024 Win

Biden acknowledges involvement in Trump's win secured success

In an unexpected confession, former US President Joe Biden has admitted some responsibility for Donald Trump's victory in the 2024 Presidential Election. During a candid interview on "The View," Biden stated, "I guess I do take responsibility, 'cause I was the man in charge, and he... well, he managed to win again."

Biden accused Trump of obstructing his administration, particularly in immigration policy matters, and admitted to falling short in self-promotion. He pointed out that the effectiveness of many administrative measures didn't immediately manifest, leaving the public unaware of their impact.

In the same interview, Biden defended his record, asserting that he could have handily defeated Trump had he remained in the race. The 82-year-old, who withdrew from the 2024 presidential campaign due to health concerns, vehemently denied allegations of cognitive decline. He insisted that reports of a significant decline during his final year in office were nothing more than baseless rumors.

Though Biden admits to a less-than-convincing performance in the TV debate against Trump, he clarified that he stepped down to prevent internal party acrimony rather than for health reasons. "I ain't no quitter," he asserted, "I wanted to keep the Democratic Party united, put the nation's interest first."

Jill Biden, too, spoke forthrightly in the interview. She dismissed accusations of shielding her husband from reality and prolonging his candidacy, stating, "I've been by Joe's side, day and night. If anything, I've been the one keeping tabs on him." She denounced the public portrayal of her role in the final stages of his term as hurtful and misleading.
