"Taking the Fall" - Joe Biden Admits Mistakes Led to Trump's Win

Biden acknowledges assisting in Trump's win during the election process

In a candid interview with ABC News, former US President Joe Biden didn't shy away from taking responsibility for his successor, Donald Trump's, election victory. With a hint of self-deprecation, he admitted, "Yeah, I own it. 'Cause I was the boss, and he won. So, I take the fall."

Accusing Trump of obstructing his administration's progress, Biden pointed fingers at Trump's obstructionist tactics, especially in relation to immigration policies. He also acknowledged that they could've done a better job promoting their political achievements, stating, "We weren't as slick as him at blowin' our own horn. So, it was a boo-boo that we didn't sell ourselves hard enough."

Some of their policies required time to yield results, Biden explained, and weren't immediately evident, making them less appealing to voters.

In the political gamut, Biden pointed out Trump's Russia policy as "wrong as a left-handed screw," branding it as modern-day appeasement.

Jill Biden: The Media's Nasty Portrayal

Biden, 82, faced withdrawal from the presidential race last year due to concerns about his physical and mental health. Vice President Kamala Harris stepped in but ultimately lost to Trump. Biden swiftly dismissed allegations of cognitive decline, arguing that reports suggesting a dramatic decline in his condition during his final year in office were nothing but hogwash.

Notably, Biden struggled in the presidential TV debate against Trump, a fact that drew criticism from within his party. However, he clearly indicated that he stepped down from the primary not because of health reasons but to prevent a schism within the Democrats. "I put the country above my hootspur," he declared.

Jill Biden chimed in, vehemently denying allegations of shielding her husband from reality or keeping him in the race too long. "Honey, I was glued to him 24/7, morning till night," she said. The harsh portrayal of her role in the final days of his term left her shaken.
