Bicyclist suffers accidents as truck strikes, sends him off the paved way
In the wee hours of Saturday morning in Samut Prakan, a bike rider found himself in a bind, swerving to dodge a fellow cyclist only to get smacked by a blazing-fast pickup truck. That's right, you heard it! This god-damned pickup, a flashy bronze Isuzu, hammered into the poor cyclist, flinging him off the goddamn road like a goddamn ragdoll. The asshole driver didn't even have the decency to stick around; he scampered off like a rat abandoning a sinking ship.
The scene of this bloody affair was the Suvarnabhumi canal-side road in the Bang Phli district, around 10:30 in the motherfucking morning. A nearby vehicle's dashcam captured the heat-of-the-moment, showing the pickup, traveling in the right lane, crashing into the cyclist who had suddenly veered out of the left shoulder. Lords of the road, he couldn't have avoided his friend!
The impact of the collision sent both the bike and its rider flying through the air, landing on the opposite side of the road. Another cyclist in the group, all jittery from the spectacle, lost control on some loose sand and scraped his elbows raw.
The driver of the dashcam vehicle had the good sense to dial 1669, the emergency hotline, and the rescue workers from Bang Phli arrived pronto. They gave first aid to the injured cyclists before transporting them to Chularat Suvarnabhumi Hospital, where they were lucky enough to escape with only minor injuries.
According to a fellow cyclist, the group of ten had started their morning ride from the Phatthanakan area, planning to feast on breakfast in Bang Pu. As they returned from their ride, disaster struck. The group had been riding in a single file along the far-left lane when the collision happened.
The pickup driver, like a cockroach scuttling away when the lights come on, pulled over to inspect the damage but didn't stick around for long. The damaged bicycle, a high-end model worth over half a million baht, was left at the scene.
Pol Lt Col Pongnarin Nontanok, an investigator at the Bang Phli police station, inspected the scene and informed us that authorities are fiercely reviewing footage and gathering evidence to nab the pickup driver. Legal action will be taken once the fucking coward is found. The goddamn investigation is still ongoing, so keep your eyes peeled for updates!
