In an exciting development for the city of Halle, Germany, a brand-new sports facility combining both Bikepolo and football pitches has recently been completed. The facility, located on Rossplatz, between Berliner Street and Paracelsus Street, is now open for older children and young people to enjoy.

The state-of-the-art facility, which cost 349,000 euros to build, has received significant funding from the "Urban Development East" funding program, accounting for 67% of the total investment. The facility boasts a six-meter-high ball catch fence on the sides, ensuring safety for all users.

The Bikepolo pitch, a unique addition to the city, features an asphalt surface, a barrier system, football goals, and the aforementioned ball catch fence. For those unfamiliar with the sport, Bikepolo involves cyclists aiming to drive a ball with a stick into the opponent's goal.

To make the facility as accessible and convenient as possible, waste bins have been installed near the Bikepolo pitch, and access is from Berliner Street, on the west side of the Jahnturnhalle. A bicycle parking area with five bicycle racks and spaces is also provided for users of the facility.

Four youth benches with wheelchair accessible provisions have been placed near the Bikepolo pitch, offering a comfortable spot for spectators or a rest area for players. The facility is designed for older children and young people, and its multi-use nature means it can cater to a wide range of interests.

The combination of a Bikepolo and football pitch is expected to have a positive impact on outdoor activities for older children and youth in the Paulus and Medical quarters. By offering a facility that caters to diverse interests, it is anticipated that the facility will **increase participation in outdoor sports**, promote social interaction and community engagement, encourage healthy lifestyles, and support skill development and informal competition in emerging urban sports like Bikepolo alongside traditional football.

As more detailed assessments or studies become available, they could provide concrete evidence of specific local impacts in Halle. For now, the general consensus in urban sports development suggests such infrastructure positively supports youth outdoor activities and community cohesion.

This new facility is a testament to Halle's commitment to providing high-quality sports facilities for its young residents and fostering a vibrant, active community. With the Bikepolo pitch now open, it's time for Halle's youth to get out, get active, and enjoy the benefits of this exciting new sports facility.

The Bikepolo pitch, a unique addition to the facility, complements the traditional football pitch, offering an exciting avenue for young people to explore a new sport. For hockey enthusiasts, one could imagine the possibility of introducing a smaller, modified version of the ball used in hockey onto the Bikepolo pitch, creating an invigorating crossover game that incorporates elements of both sports.
