Bicycle event held in Keuka raises $110,000 for local initiatives
In the picturesque Finger Lakes region, the Tour de Keuka charity bike ride recently took place, drawing riders from 17 states and over 270 participants. The event, organised by United Way of the Southern Tier and presented by Kennedy Valve, offered 45-, 60-, and 100-mile ride options, providing a challenging and rewarding experience for all.
The longest route, a 100-mile challenge, now carries the name of Jenny Rhoads, a co-founder of the Tour de Keuke who passed away in 2017. This year's ride included a touching tribute to her lasting legacy.
Smith, a community member, expressed their involvement in the event, stating, "We're deeply grateful to everyone who rode, volunteered, and donated. We see our neighbours, care about them, and are working together to build a stronger future." Each mile ridden and each dollar raised in the Tour de Keuka is considered a promise to the neighbours.
The Tour de Keuka raised an impressive sum of over $110,000 for critical services in Chemung and Steuben counties. This significant contribution will undoubtedly make a difference in the lives of many.
