Striker Taiwo Awoniyi Leans on Bible Principles for Life Guidance
Bible Serves as Primary Guidance for Taiwo Awoniyi
According to our reports, Nottingham Forest's striker, Taiiwo Awoniyi, conducts his life based on biblical teachings, providing him unwavering direction regardless of his circumstances.
On Rash4Christ, a podcast hosted by Super Falcons striker Rasheedat Ajibade, Awoniyi shared his personal approach to religion and Christianity. Speaking frankly, he attributed his grounded Christian life to the inspirational scriptures that guide him.
During their conversation on Friday, Awoniyi recounted the moment a pastor gifted him a Bible during thanksgiving services after his team won the 2013 under-17 World Cup. He considers this Bible, now a precious possession, as the most significant gift he has ever received.
When queried about staying rooted in Christian faith despite career growth and success, Awoniyi underscored the significance of personal beliefs:
"I was told to do this, to do that, but Christianity or religion is a personal thing."
Awoniyi continued by emphasizing that Christian faith does not alter one's identity. He appreciated regular church attendance during his time in Nigeria and expressed gratitude towards those who supported him during his career milestones. But the Bible, he declared, has been his unwavering guide.
"Christianity, I believe, is your best compass. My own personal compass is the Bible...It doesn't matter if today I'm the highest goal scorer, or tomorrow I'm not; I see life through the lens of the scriptures."
