Biathlon star Denise Herrmann aids in liberating Saxon clubs from coal subsidies
The Leipzig-based energy company VNG, in collaboration with the Saxon State Sports Association, has launched an exciting new initiative called "VNG moves your club." This initiative aims to promote grassroots sports in Saxony by offering 500 euros to selected clubs.
Starting from August 1st, athletes from any sport in Saxony can apply for this opportunity through an online form available at www.vng.de/deinverein. Each club can submit only one application via the provided form, and applications via email will not be considered.
The application process will last for eight weeks, and the selected clubs will be determined through an internal VNG selection process after the application period ends. The beneficiaries will be informed at the latest four weeks after the end of the application period via email.
The initiative is part of a broader effort by VNG to support the region and its people. It is being run by VNG and the Saxon State Sports Association and is additionally supported by ten active and former top athletes from Saxony, including Denise Herrmann-Wick (former biathlete and skier), Martin Schulz (Paralympic triathlete), Katharina Hennig-Dotzler (skier), and Axel Jungk.
