As the final race of the Biathlon World Cup approaches in Lenzerheide, Switzerland, 29-year-old Franziska Preuß looks ahead to the women's mass start with a mix of excitement and trepidation. After a grueling season, fatigue looms large, but Preuß remains undeterred. "It's going to be tough," she admits, "but I'm determined to give it my all."

Preuß, known for her adaptability, views the shooting range as a golden opportunity. "At the beginning, you swim along a bit and save energy," she explains. However, standing position during shooting becomes the game-changer. "If you can pull off sharp shots here, it can move you up a few places," she adds.

With the men's Biathlon World Cup premiere also scheduled in Graubünden, teams worldwide gear up for an intense finale. Among them is Benedikt Doll, who aims to redeem himself from the many penalties in the pursuit race. In true sportsman spirit, he admits, "I don't know exactly what it was. I'll analyze it for myself and then I'll try to do better again."
