Unleashing Her Talent in Lenzerheide's Biathlon World Cup

Sporting a remarkable four flawless shooting displays, biathlete Franziska Preuß wraps up her comeback from coronavirus illness with yet another remarkable top ten placement.

In the heavenly climes of Lenzerheide, Switzerland, the two-time World Champion slips just short of the podium, claiming seventh place in the mass start. A less-than-stellar cross-country run detracts from an otherwise commendable performance. The competition's undisputed champion, Justine Braisaz-Bouchet, capped off her pre-Christmas break triumphs by scooping up all three victories in Lenzerheide. French supremacy prevailed again, with Elvira Öberg in second (2 misses) and sister Hanna Öberg following in third (2).

"I'm ecstatic and content with both the weekend's results and overall performance thus far. If someone had promised me seventh as my worst outcome, I would've signed the dotted line without any hesitation," shared Preuß after her interview with ZDF.

Team standard-bearer Vanessa Voigt maintained a solid pace up to the standing start; however, two missed targets dropped her ranking to 21st place. With Janina Hettich-Walz penalized with three extra rounds, she ended up in 23rd.
