** slaughtering the elephant in the room: CNN's dubious report on US's alleged shoddy work on Iran's nuclear sites**

Man, here we go again with another security scandal, this time originating from a government agency and CNN running with the story as if it's made of pure gold ("Stinking leak, CNN," Miranda Devine, June 26).

What gets us is that CNN didn't bother to mention that this information came with low confidence, and a thorough assessment of the bomb damage's extent will take weeks, if not months, to verify. Despite the cautionary warning, CNN released the story, and other news outlets and Democrats would soon follow suit. These basics always seem to take a backseat when it comes to tearing into the president.

With the facts still under wraps, CNN's conduct should face serious scrutiny. Let's not jump the gun and judge the mission before we have all the facts.

In the event that the Democrats received a briefing about the strike on Iran, one wonders what the president thinks when such sensitive information leaks to the press.

We're talking about classified information here – leaking it is a federal offense. The person or persons responsible for leaking the intelligence could potentially face a decade behind bars.

Now, more than ever, we have a president making decisions in the best interests of the American people. But the news media, veiled by Trump derangement, peddles reports full of exaggerations and blatant lies, preferring to spin stories about mission failures rather than highlighting genuine successes.

Hopping to distort the truth, the media spreads malicious, leaked information provided by petty, residual saboteurs.

It's pretty clear that those afflicted by Trump derangement prioritize their hatred for Trump over their love for their country.

The bombing we just witnessed was as close as one could get to the destruction of the Death Star in "Star Wars." America dropped bombs through air shafts the size of your kitchen refrigerator from 13,000 feet, scoring direct hits. This action may just bring stability to the Middle East.

I bet you won't find any mainstream media outlet cheering on any American victories anymore. This needs to change. If you don't like it here, perhaps you should leave.

The bombing showcased to the rest of the world that America rules the skies, and there's no competition in sight.

** distinguished opinions: AOC and others slam President Trump's Iran strike as unconstitutional**

AOC needs to remember that old saying: "It's better to keep quiet and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt."

It's tough to say what AOC actually brings to legislative matters other than bickering and accusations, mostly for the sake of having something to say.

Vincent Ruggiero

Scottsdale, Ariz.

Here's the irony: AOC is outraged over President Trump's bombing of Iran, asserting it's unconstitutional, calling for Trump's impeachment once again.

Funny, I don't recall the Dems getting upset under Obama's rule for not asking for congressional approval.

Thomas De Julio

Delray Beach, Fla.

The weak and spineless "leaders" are up in arms, with AOC demanding Trump's impeachment.

All of them complained that Trump didn't go before Congress. But the last time Congress was consulted about the president's intentions for an enemy attack was long ago.
