Bhopal doctors penalized for skipping OPD duties amid stricter inspections

Three physicians in Bhopal have faced disciplinary action for skipping work, with seven days' salaries deducted. Regular inspections have been stepped up to ensure punctuality and attendance at scheduled OPD times.

Dr Samreen Khan, the responsible physician at Sanjivani Clinic, Habibia School, was caught absent during an inspection by CMHO Dr. Manish Sharma at 11:30 am on Thursday. Similarly, Dr Smita Laad failed to turn up at Civil Dispensary, Bagsewania, on the same day, with her absence confirmed by Dr Sharma. Meanwhile, Dr Saloni Singh was marked present on the Sarthak app but was found absent at Urban Primary Health Centre, Kokta.

Show-cause notices have been issued to the three physicians. If any of them repeat the offence, leading to three consecutive absences, information will be sent to senior officials for further departmental action. Regular inspections are being conducted to maintain attendance and punctuality at scheduled OPD times.

The three physicians have had seven days' salaries deducted for their unauthorised absences. Further action will be taken if they fail to improve their attendance. Regular inspections will continue to ensure physicians are present and available for patients during scheduled OPD times.
