BHC is conducting trials against Gummersbach in their respective field
The Bergischer HC (BHC) and VfL Gummersbach have made their return to the top tier of German handball, the Handball-Bundesliga, for the 2025/26 season. However, the specific upcoming matches for these teams have yet to be announced.
Despite the lack of detailed information, the BHC's website confirms that their first competitive match will be on August 16th against TSG A-H Bielefeld, while their first home game is scheduled for September 3rd against HC Erlangen. The BHC's first league match is against the champion team Füchse Berlin on August 31st.
Meanwhile, VfL Gummersbach's roster has seen some changes with the addition of Kay Smits and Joao Gomes to their squad. The BHC, on the other hand, has welcomed Nico Schoettle (22, back court) from TVB Stuttgart and Lars Kooij (24, center back) from Vardar Skopje.
Unfortunately, Mathis Haeseler will be out due to an ankle ligament injury and will be absent for a longer period. The BHC is yet to announce a replacement for Djibril M'Bengue, who has temporarily left for HBW Balingen-Weilstetten.
The BHC's home games are played at the Uni-Halle. The team, established in the Bundesliga, will face both second and third division teams, as well as the top-tier opponents, in the upcoming season. The BHC is considered the clear favourite against TSG A-H Bielefeld on August 16th.
