The Bergisch handball team (BHC) kicked off their season in style, securing a convincing victory against HC Erlangen in their first home game at the university hall on September 3.

The match started with the BHC taking an early lead at 1:0, and they never looked back. The home team extended their lead to 4:1 by the 5-minute mark, and by the 19-minute mark, they had pulled away with four consecutive goals to lead 13:7.

The BHC continued to dominate the game, with the score standing at 17:11 in their favour at the 26-minute mark. The third-division team briefly closed the gap to 7:9 at the 15-minute mark, but the BHC responded with a series of goals to regain their commanding lead.

At halftime, the score was 19:14 in favour of the BHC, and they continued to pile on the pressure in the second half. The BHC started the second half with three goals and extended their lead to 22:14 at the 32-minute mark.

The BHC's lead continued to grow, with the score standing at 29:18 in their favour in the 43rd minute. The TSG came back to 21:32 in the 50th minute, but they were unable to score any further goals, as the BHC went on to win the game 35:22.

The BHC's league start was on August 31, with their first league game being against the champion Füchse Berlin. The score was 29:18 in favour of the BHC in the 43rd minute of that game, and they went on to win 36:22.

The BHC's impressive start to the season bodes well for their upcoming matches, including their next home game against HC Erlangen. Fans can catch the action live at the university hall on September 3, with kick-off at 7 pm.
