Beyoncé Wins an Emmy for the Designs at the NFL's Intermission Spectacle
Pop superstar Beyoncé has added another prestigious award to her impressive collection, winning the Emmy for Outstanding Costumes for Variety, Nonfiction, or Reality Programming at the 77th Creative Arts Emmy Awards.
The award was given for the costume design work on Beyoncé's 2024 NFL halftime show, known as the Beyoncé Bowl. The performance, which was broadcast on Netflix, saw Beyoncé riding into the Texans' stadium on a white horse and donning a cowboy hat.
The team behind the costume design included Beyoncé Knowles-Carter herself, as well as Shiona Turini, Erica Rice, Molly Peters, Chelsea Staebell, Timothy White, and others.
Beyoncé's win marks her first time receiving the most prestigious TV award. She has previously won 35 Grammy awards, making her one of the most decorated musicians in history.
The Juried Awards, which honor a handful of more technical categories, were announced on Tuesday by the Television Academy. The winners of the main categories of the Emmys will be announced on September 14.
The special Emmy that Beyoncé won was in a category other than the main categories, and the award itself was for her work as a costume designer for her halftime show. The special Emmys that Beyoncé won will be presented at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards on September 6 and 7.
In addition to Beyoncé's win, the Netflix series "Love, Death & Robots" won in four categories, including character design and storyboard at the Juried Awards.
