Beyoncé Wins an Emmy for Outstanding Costume Design at the NFL Half-Time Spectacle.
Beyoncé has added another prestigious award to her collection, this time in the world of television. The pop icon has won her first Primetime Emmy Award for costume design, specifically for her Netflix special "Beyoncé: Boll" in 2025.
The Emmy was awarded in the category for a variety, music, or reality show, recognising the exceptional work done by a team of designers, including Beyoncé herself, under her civilian name, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, and fellow costume designer Shiona Turini, alongside assistant costume designers.
The win comes after Beyoncé's spectacular halftime show at the NFL game in Houston, which was titled "Beyoncé Bowl" and broadcast on Netflix. During the show, Beyoncé made a grand entrance riding on a white horse into the Texans' stadium.
It's worth noting that the Emmys in the main categories will be announced on September 14, but the winners of the "Juried Awards" were announced earlier on Tuesday. The Juried Awards honour more technical categories and often feature lesser-known names.
This isn't the first time Beyoncé has made history with her performances. She has won the music award Grammy 35 times, making her the most awarded woman in Grammy history. Now, she can also boast about being the most awarded woman in the Primetime Emmy Awards for costume design.
The special Emmys will be presented at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards on September 6 and 7. In addition to Beyoncé's win, the Netflix series "Love, Death & Robots" won in four categories, including character design and storyboard.
