Beyoncé receives an Emmy honor for her clothing designs during the NFL intermission performance.
Beyoncé Knowles-Carter has added another prestigious award to her collection, this time in the form of an Emmy. The multi-Grammy winner was honoured at the 2022 Creative Arts Emmy Awards for her halftime show performance at the NFL game in Houston.
The Emmy was awarded in the category of 'Outstanding Costumes for a Variety, Music or Reality Program'. Beyoncé, along with a team of designers, was named a winner in this category. The performance, titled "Beyoncé Bowl," was broadcast on the streaming service Netflix and lasted more than ten minutes.
During the show, Beyoncé rode into the Texans' stadium on a white horse, adding an extra touch of drama to the spectacle. She also donned a cowboy hat, further embracing the Texas theme.
The Creative Arts Emmy Awards ceremony took place before the main Emmy award ceremony, on September 6 and 7. The special Emmys Beyoncé won will be presented during this ceremony.
The Creative Arts Emmy Awards honour lesser-known names in the television industry, often recognising individual artistic achievements in key creative and technical categories such as animation, costume, emerging media programming, and motion design.
Other winners in the 2022 Emmy Awards' Juried Awards include Netflix series "Love, Death & Robots", which won in four categories, including character design and storyboard. "Arcane" (Netflix) won three Individual Achievement in Animation awards, while "The Boys Presents: Diabolical" (Amazon Prime Video), "The House", and "Kid Cosmic" (Netflix) also received awards in juried categories.
The main Emmy winners will be announced on September 14. This marks Beyoncé's first time being honoured with the most prestigious television award.
