Beyoncé receives an Emmy award for her wardrobe designs during the NFL halftime performance.
Beyoncé Makes History at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards
Beyoncé made a grand entrance at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards on September 6, riding a white horse into the stadium. The special Emmys for the Juried Awards were presented at this ceremony, honouring technical categories such as character design, storyboard, and motion design.
In these awards, Netflix, Prime Video, and Beyoncé's projects dominated the wins. Beyoncé's Netflix special "Beyoncé Bowl" earned her a special Emmy for Outstanding Costumes for Variety, Nonfiction, or Reality Programming, marking her first Emmy win and a significant step toward her pursuit of EGOT status.
The Netflix series "Love, Death & Robots" also shone brightly, winning in four categories of the Juried Awards, including Character Design and Storyboard. Daryl Graham was recognised for his work as 2D Animation Supervisor in the Character Animation category for "400 Boys," while Robert Valley, Gigi Cavenago, Edgar Martins, and others received awards for their contributions to Character Design, Production Design, and Storyboard respectively.
Prime Video's "Octopus!" was also a winner, taking home the Outstanding Motion Design award. The production, which was produced by Amazon MGM Studios, Jigsaw Productions, and Wells Street Films, was acknowledged for its innovative design.
"White Rabbit" by Shibuya.Film received the Outstanding Innovation in Emerging Media Programming award.
It is worth noting that the winners in the Juried Awards are often lesser-known names, with Beyoncé being an exception. The performance, which was part of the Super Bowl halftime show and streamed on Netflix, saw Beyoncé deliver a more than ten-minute show titled "Beyoncé Bowl" at the NFL game in Houston on December 25.
During the performance, Beyoncé wore a cowboy hat, adding a western touch to her iconic style. At 43 years old, the multi-Grammy winner continues to break boundaries, making history with her first Emmy win.
The main Emmy awards will be announced on September 14.
