Bethesda Has Finally Come Through with Patches for Oblivion Remastered
It's been a long wait, but Bethesda has finally shown some movement in addressing the performance issues plaguing The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered. They've announced not one, but two upcoming updates aimed at improving the game's performance and overall experience.
The first patch, currently available as a Steam Beta, targets quest-related issues, major bugs, and general quality of life improvements. This update, set to launch across all platforms on June 11, will address various annoyances gamers have faced since the game's release, such as Oblivion Remastered's cleverly hidden local map and the inability to turn off your HUD.
Meanwhile, the second patch is focusing on the game's performance issues. While it's been running smoothly for some, many players have been struggling with stutters, hitches, and potential memory leaks while exploring Cyrodiil. In fairness, creating a chimera of the original Gamebryo version and UE5 can't be easy.
