Berlin’s U-Bahn runs all night on weekends—here’s how it keeps the city moving

Berlin's U-Bahn network, operated by Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe (BVG) since 1902, spans 155 kilometers, serving 9 lines and 175 stations. It offers continuous service through the night on weekends and holidays, with night buses filling in on weekdays.

During peak hours on weekdays, U-Bahn trains run every 5 minutes, increasing to every 10 minutes in the evening. On Friday and Saturday nights, as well as the evenings before public holidays, the U-Bahn and S-Bahn run all night long. On other nights, from Monday to Thursday, night buses operate every 30 minutes between 1:00 AM and 4:30 AM to replace the U-Bahn service.

U-Bahn tickets are conveniently valid on the S-Bahn, buses, and trams, providing seamless transfers across Berlin's public transport network.

Berlin's U-Bahn network, with its extensive reach and flexible operating hours, caters to the city's residents and visitors alike, ensuring efficient and accessible transportation throughout the day and night.
