Berlin's 'Irrationality' Exhibition: No Phones, Naked AI Art, and Interactive Shredding

Berlin's Haus der Kulturen der Welt is hosting an unconventional exhibition titled 'The Possibility of Irrationality', curated by Jan Böhmermann and his group Royal. The exhibition, which opened last weekend and runs until October 19, 2022, requires visitors to surrender their phones at the entrance. Inside, they'll find a mix of art, technology, and provocative installations.

The exhibition features a unique blend of art pieces. Visitors can see naked pictures of Merz, generated by an AI algorithm. There's also a replica of a naturalization test situation, allowing visitors to experience the process firsthand. In a more interactive display, a machine shreds a stuffed animal every 28 minutes if visitors don't pay 20 euros and capture a photo of themselves. The exhibition also includes a large butter bust of former Chancellor Helmut Kohl and a smoking cabin with real cigarettes.

Souvenirs from Jan Böhmermann's TV career are scattered throughout the exhibition, including a golden record by Bushido and Jan Marsalek's boxing bag. A telescope pointed at a mirror offers visitors a glimpse into the office of the neighboring chancellor. Additionally, there's a TV garden for indie kids, featuring performances by artists like Domiziana, Mine, Ebow, and Wa22ermann.

The exhibition 'The Possibility of Irrationality' is a thought-provoking exploration of irrationality in today's world. It's open to the public until October 19, 2022, at the Haus der Kulturen der Welt in Berlin. Visitors are encouraged to engage with the interactive installations and consider the themes presented.
