The Berlin Foxes, current Bundesliga champions, are gearing up for their next challenge in the HSG Premium Cup. After a successful preseason, the Foxes will face SG Flensburg-Handewitt in the semifinals.

The Foxes' journey to the semifinals began with a victory in their sixth preseason test match against 1. VfL Potsdam. Despite a challenging first half (21:17), Berlin managed to pull away in the second half, securing a win with a final score of 41:32.

Mathias Gidsel, the World Handballer of the Year, was the top scorer for Berlin Foxes, netting 14 goals in the match.

Before this, the Foxes had a commanding victory over the Japanese team, Toyota Brave Kings, with a score of 48:33 the day before.

The HSG Premium Cup and the Supercup are separate events, with different opponents for the Berlin Foxes. The Foxes' first competitive match of the season will be the Supercup on August 23. The Supercup will be played against the cup winners, THW Kiel.

Interestingly, the Supercup will take place in Munich, while the HSG Premium Cup will see the Berlin Foxes participating in Lingen next weekend. Another notable team in the HSG Premium Cup is FC Barcelona, the record Champions League winners.

Meanwhile, 1. VfL Potsdam and Berlin Foxes have a cooperative partnership. However, Potsdam was relegated from the Erstliga, making their preseason match against the Foxes a significant test for the young team.

It's important to note that the HSG Premium Cup and the Supercup are separate events, with different opponents for the Berlin Foxes. For upcoming opponents in other handball matches, such as the HSG Premium Cup and Supercup, it's recommended to check the official Berlin Foxes website or their social media channels, the official HSG Premium Cup and Supercup tournament websites, or popular sports news websites with handball coverage.

The Berlin Foxes, having secured their place in the HSG Premium Cup semifinals, will face a formidable opponent in FC Barcelona, European Champions League winners, in their next match. Having scored 14 goals in their win against 1. VfL Potsdam, Mathias Gidsel will look to repeat his performance against Barcelona.
