Berlin's Fashion Week Spring/Summer 26: A Clash of Harsh Reality and Bold Innovation

Berlin Fashion Week Spring/Summer 26 was a spectacle of creativity and innovation, showcasing a diverse range of designers and their unique visions.

Marcel Ostertag's new collection, "Paradise," transported guests into a lush, floral reverie, seamlessly blending tradition and modernity. The show was a testament to Ostertag's design prowess, as he continues to push the boundaries of fashion while maintaining a deep connection to his roots.

David Koma, the Georgian-born, London-based fashion designer, presented his Spring/Summer 2026 menswear collection, "I Love David." Koma is renowned for his ultra body-contouring silhouette and sculptural statement pieces. This collection explored themes of ego, identity, and masculinity, continuing his signature style of sculpted, statement-making designs.

TELL THE TRUTH, founded by self-taught designer Rainy Womack, made a bold statement with their collection "CULT." Channelling ecstatic, rebellious energy, the collection was showcased within a WWII bunker-turned-event-space, embodying TELL THE TRUTH's philosophy of fashion without compromise, built by an outsider to disrupt. The collection featured unisex, layered silhouettes, eco-conscious materials, and standout looks like the "Midnight Set," "Red Velvet Jacket," and "Bee's Knees."

MAXIMILIAN GEDRA's collection was a fearless confrontation with outworn gender norms, transcending binaries and creating extreme, sculptural garments. The collection, presented in an open studio, met the spirit of Berlin with its bizarre attitude and references to nature that dominate the raw urban landscapes.

Danny Reinke's new collection, "The Hunt," revived the poetic spirit of European miniatures and myths, infusing the runway with timeless storytelling. The PLATTE NEXT GEN Pop-up was a hub for experimentation in garment construction and aesthetic storytelling, offering access to a wide spectrum of fashion lovers, from Gen Z minimalists to best agers.

Kilian Kerner's collection, "DDR. The Stolen Children," brought a long-suppressed chapter of German history to Berlin's grandest stage, raising awareness about the inhuman practices of totalitarian regimes. Kerner presented his collection as part of COLLECTIVEFOUR alongside Danny Reinke and Marcel Ostertag, merging emotional storytelling with high-impact glamour.

The Berlin Fashion Week Spring/Summer 26 showcased a duality of edgy, unconventional creativity and internationally recognized design, making it a must-attend event for fashion enthusiasts worldwide.
