3:0 win over Haching: Berlin Volleys' mandatory victory after CEV setback - Berlin Recycling Volleys face do-or-die CEV Cup clash in Italy after Bundesliga triumph
Berlin Recycling Volleys secured a 3–0 win against TSV Haching Munich in the Bundesliga this weekend. The victory keeps them at the top of the league table. However, their focus now shifts to a tough CEV Cup quarterfinal return leg in Italy next Wednesday.
The first leg of the CEV Cup quarterfinal saw two tightly fought sets. Berlin now faces an uphill battle in the second match. To force a tie-break, they must win at least 3–1 against their Italian opponents.
Meanwhile, in the Bundesliga, rivals Lüneburg could still overtake Berlin. Lüneburg currently have two games in hand, adding pressure to the league leaders.
Piacenza, Berlin's next CEV Cup rival, finished fifth in the 2025/26 Italian A1 regular season with 44 points. They advanced to the playoffs and will face fourth-placed Modena in the domestic quarterfinals.
Berlin's immediate challenge is the CEV Cup return leg in Italy. A strong result is needed to keep their European campaign alive. Domestically, they must also hold off Lüneburg to maintain their Bundesliga lead.
