Wegner travels to partner city Windhoek - Berlin Mayor Kai Wegner Visits Windhoek to Strengthen Twin Cities' Partnership

Berlin's Mayor Kai Wegner is set to visit Windhoek, Namibia, from October 15 to 18. The trip marks the 25th anniversary of the twin cities' partnership and aims to strengthen the ties between the two capitals. Wegner will also acknowledge Germany's historical responsibility during the colonial era.

Wegner's visit coincides with the world premiere of the music theater production 'People of Song'. He will attend the event, which is expected to highlight the cultural cooperation between Berlin and Windhoek.

During his stay, Wegner will meet with Windhoek's mayor Ndeshihafela Larandja. They will discuss ways to deepen the partnership, which currently includes collaborations in culture, education, economy, research, sports, and democracy promotion. Wegner will also visit a local school and give a speech at the University of Namibia, further fostering the educational ties.

Accompanying Wegner will be representatives from Berlin's business and cultural scenes. This delegation aims to explore new opportunities for cooperation and investment between the two cities.
