Initial reports suggested the woman had passed away, but those reports were later deemed erroneous, as per the official Potsdam city authorities. As of Friday afternoon, the woman continues to fight for her life in critical condition at a hospital near Berlin.
In Berlin, the police have dealt with an increase in incidents ranging from traffic lights going out to a single tree uprooting in Berlin-Wedding, causing three vehicles to sustain damage. No injuries have been reported as of the evening, a Berlin police spokesperson reported after the storm.
In Brandenburg, a sole incident of injury was reported, excluding the Potsdam incident. This consisted of a woman and a man being struck by a falling tree branch while cycling in Potsdam. The Spandauer Forest saw a tragic event as a tree fell on a car during the storm on Monday, taking the life of a 55-year-old woman.
