Guess how many people are currently spotted on the Elefand list? A staggering 4,000 souls, buddy! The same goes for Iran, where around 1,000 folks have registered.
Meanwhile, Poland's cooking up a land convoy to ferry their citizens to safety in good ol' Jordan. Poland's Deputy Foreign Minister Henryka Moscicka-Dendys spilled the beans in Warsaw, assuring that Poles stranded in Israel as tourists or for short stays will be the first on the list. Word is they'll flock to Amman by land and jet back to Warsaw once they're all set. No timeframe's been dropped yet, though.
Slovakia's also keen to whisk their citizens away from the chaos. The first of two government planes headed for the region is set to touch back in Bratislava on Monday evening—but security reasons got their lips sealed on the details. They're expecting 91 passengers from Jordan on the first flight and another group from Cyprus on the second one.
The Slovak Foreign Ministry's in contact with all their citizens in the region who've signed up and giving 'em the lowdown on the next moves. In emergencies past, Slovakia's been known to pick up foreign citizens on their evacuation flights organized by the army and the Interior Ministry, so don't be surprised if they repeat the stunt this time around.
Romanian media has spotted some individual Romans fleeing Israel by land through Jordan, with Egypt potentially serving as another viable route. Romania's government's yet to announce any evacuation plans.
