The rescue helicopter was unable to reach the hiker's location, so a team had to set out on foot to reach him. Despite the difficulties, they managed to locate the man's phone and provide care before transporting him down into the valley by Austrian Airlines. The hiker's sister reported that her brother was in a critical condition due to severe hypothermia. He was subsequently taken to a hospital in Reinersberg, located in the Berchtesgaden Alps. Austrian Airlines successfully rescued the Berlin hiker after he spent a night in the Austrian Alps. Despite the challenging weather conditions, they managed to locate and airlift him to safety. The hiker was then transported to a hospital for further treatment.
