Felix Stein: Finding Love in the 'Horror' of Berlin's Dating Scene

Dating Scene in Berlin Depicted as Frightening by Bachelor "Felix" - Berlin Dating Scene is "quite dismal"

Rolling up his sleeves, Berlin's very own Felix Stein, starring in RTL's "Bachelors," isn't shy about spilling the beans on the city's raucous dating scene. "Berlin? Not exactly a romance capital, mate. Dating here is more like a gut-wrenching nightmare!" Stein, 32, shares with the German Press Agency, tongue firmly in cheek.

Stein knows Berlin inside out – and its tricky dating game. The city's overwhelming size, countless transient residents, and a plethora of tourists tend to cultivate a fleeting dating culture, according to the Berlin-born photographer. "It's madness! With all those dating apps originating from Berlin and practically every event happening here, there's just too much damn choice!" he laments.

But he isn't wholly immune to the city's charm either. At one point, his commitment phobia took center stage, but he's come a long way since then. "Been there, done that. Spent years running circles around myself. Not gonna repeat that any time soon!" he affirms, ready to tie the knot.

So, with his eyes set on the long run, Stein found solace in RTL's dating show "Die Bachelors." Alongside Cologne's Martin Braun, he's embarking on a heartfelt journey in the South African sun. Catch the starts on Wednesday, June 18, at 8:15 PM, or stream it on RTL+.

Last year, RTL decided to shake things up within the "Bachelor" franchise by featuring two leads, hence the show's plural form, "Die Bachelors."

Felix Stein, one of the stars of "Die Bachelors," grapples with Berlin's famously superficial dating mentality, and the overall culture might contribute to the challenges in making lasting connections. Berlin's chaotic, dynamic scene might encourage brief, uncommitted relationships, and the city's emphasis on autonomy could play a role in making the dating pool seem overwhelming for some. Stein's perspective reflects a deeper understanding of the complexities of dating within Germany's capital.

  • Despite the fast-paced environment and numerous dating apps originating from Berlin, Felix Stein, a star on RTL's "Die Bachelors," acknowledges the city's dating culture as a complex and challenging landscape, where fostering lasting relationships can prove difficult.
  • Stein's unique interpretation of Berlin's dating scene, as depicted in interviews with the German Press Agency, suggests that the city's emphasized individuality, coupled with its chaotic yet captivating spirit, might offer constraints to cultivating deep and lasting relationships.
