Berlin braces for severe weather with round-the-clock road crews

Berlin’s road maintenance teams are preparing for severe weather as heavy snow and rain approach. The city’s transport ministry has ordered services to operate in an elevated mode, ensuring roads remain passable. Crews have already stockpiled supplies and readied equipment for the coming weather conditions.

The regional transport ministry confirmed that road construction workers will work around the clock to manage the impact of the storm. Snow removal vehicles are set to deploy by 3:00 a.m., treating roads with anti-icing materials before the worst of the weather hits.

The preparations come as Berlin braces for difficult travel conditions in the coming days. With equipment and materials in place, authorities aim to minimise disruptions and keep essential routes open. Residents have been advised to exercise caution while driving during the severe weather.
