Berlin and Brandenburg brace for icy roads as snow dusts the region
Berlin and Brandenburg faced a chilly start to the week as temperatures dropped between -2 and -5 degrees Celsius. Light snow and icy roads led to quieter traffic, with most drivers adapting to the slippery conditions by Monday morning.
Patchy snow covered parts of the region, especially near the Oder River. Up to three centimetres of fresh snow fell in some areas, creating icy patches on roads.
Despite the cold and snow, traffic remained relatively smooth in both Berlin and Brandenburg. The few car accidents reported caused little serious damage, and no major weather-related incidents were recorded by authorities.
