1.1 Million Christmas Travelers Expected at BER - Berlin Airport Braces for Record 1.1 Million Holiday Travellers
Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER) is preparing for its busiest Christmas season yet. Between December 19 and January 4, around 1.1 million passengers are expected to pass through its terminals. The airport has also announced new measures to help manage the crowds during peak travel days.
The upcoming weekend will see a surge in travellers, with roughly 220,000 people expected. Friday alone is set to be the busiest day, with around 79,000 passengers. To ease congestion, BER has introduced new CT scanners and an online booking system for free security check time slots.
The airport’s new technology and scheduling system aim to reduce waiting times during the holiday rush. With over a million travellers expected in just two weeks, BER is focusing on efficiency and smooth operations. The changes come as part of broader efforts to improve passenger experience at Germany’s capital airport.
