The state-approved expert concluded that the hall can be reopened until the end of the ice skating season in spring 2026, subject to certain conditions and close supervision by the building authority. Ragnar Migenda, the first deputy in charge of building supervision, is pleased with this solution.
Jörg Scholtz, chairman of the ESV Bergisch Gladbach, expressed his satisfaction with the city's approach, stating that it ensures the long-term use of the hall. Stephan Dekker, the school superintendent, also expressed his pleasure, as this solution allows school sports to continue uninterrupted.
While the affected wooden beam will be renovated in the summer of 2026, there is no information available about which company received the contract for this task. The club is inviting everyone to the season opening event, expecting a large turnout.
The ice rink in Bensberg is now open for school and club sports, and with the season opening event on the horizon, it's shaping up to be an exciting time for winter enthusiasts in the region.
