The roadworks were completed nearly two months ahead of schedule, according to the state road and transport authority responsible for the project.

"Finishing early is a positive sign for the entire region," said Dr. Hannah Timmer, head of the state road and transport authority's operational division. "Modernizing these two bridges further strengthens mobility and infrastructure in Bentheim County." Timmer emphasized that the authority not only maintains state roads but also ensures progress in rural areas through modern construction methods and efficient planning. "By replacing a total of four bridges along Route L 67, we have secured a vital link in the state's road network for the long term," she added.

To accelerate construction, both structures were renovated in parallel over the past few months, the manufacturer confirmed. The use of predominantly prefabricated components minimized traffic disruptions. As part of the project, the road surface in the construction zone was also resurfaced over a stretch of approximately 100 meters.

The total cost of the project amounts to around €1.6 million, covered by the state of Lower Saxony, the authority reported.
