Benfica Slumps in Champions League After Chelsea Defeat

Benfica has suffered a setback in the UEFA Champions League, currently sitting at the bottom of their group with no points. The team, led by José Mourinho, lost 1-0 to Chelsea in the group stage on Tuesday.

The match saw an early goal for Chelsea, an own goal scored by Richard Ríos in the first half. Despite the setback, Benfica fought to equalise but ultimately fell short. This defeat leaves them in 30th position in the Champions League standings.

Mourinho, who once managed Chelsea, reunited with several familiar faces on the other side, including the club's long-serving press officer who has been with them for 48 years.

Benfica will now look to bounce back in their next UEFA Champions League fixture against Newcastle on October 21. Despite the loss, they remain determined to improve their standing in the group.
