Gear up for the 2025 Belmont Stakes at the iconic Saratoga Race Course! The grueling Triple Crown competition wraps up next year in Elmont, NY, with the traditional home of Belmont Park set to reopen following renovations.
Despite the anticipation, this year's Triple Crown dream will go unfulfilled as the Kentucky Derby champion, Sovereignty, forgoes the Preakness Stakes to focus on the Belmont. He's the second betting favorite (2-1) behind Journalism (8-5), who's fresh off a Preakness Stakes victory and was also the favorite at the Kentucky Derby.
Traditionally a 1.5-mile race, the Belmont Stakes is shortened to 1.25 miles on the Saratoga dirt track. On June 7, 2025, at 7:04 p.m. ET, eight of the world's best three-year-olds will battle it out for a $2 million purse on FOX.
