Belichick states girlfriend holds no association with UNC football operations.
New and Improved Version
Bill Belichick, the famed six-time Super Bowl-winning coach, hammered home one thing loud and clear: His significant other, Jordon Hudson, ain't got nothing to do with UNC football.
During a chat on ESPN about the future of Tar Heels football, the 73-year-old Belichick addressed rumors surrounding Hudson and their impact on his coaching duties ahead of his first season in Chapel Hill.
"That's off the field, buddy," Belichick said, emphasizing that it's a personal relationship.
After penning a mouth-watering five-year, $50 million contract to lead the UNC team in December, Belichick has generated quite the buzz in Chapel Hill. However, the frenzy over Hudson intensified after their interview on CBS Sunday Morning last month. Hudson hit the brakes on the conversation following a question regarding their meet-cute in 2021.
Subsequently, a report surfaced that Hudson was banned from campus. Yet, UNC issued a statement last week, clearing up the rumor and disclosing that Hudson will continue handling "all activities related to Coach Belichick's personal brand outside of his responsibilities for Carolina football and the university."
Belichick's got his work cut out for him after the Tar Heels ended the 2024 season with a 6-7 record under Mack Brown's leadership. With over 70 players departed, and around 40 new faces arriving via the transfer portal, it's a whole new ball game.
Nevertheless, Belichick remains optimistic about his new squad, praising them as a "hardworking group" that "really cares" and "been very responsive to what we've asked them to do."
